i went back to
get the code but
it wasn’t there
and the experiment
had to be abandoned

chrome tread marks
showed evidence
of crime carried out
by dragons and
quick-tempered kings

not exactly sure how
to get it back again
i put lightning in their
hands and emphasized the
importance of retrieval

but my plea was tucked
away like contraband
in a closet to gather dust
with “old sparky” and a
box of old tin toys
