   maybe he’ll take your heart

across the parking lot

         and splatter it

                          all over

                                   the grass

grinning

        about how we get into stuff

          all the time

             you know       personal stuff

                              Norway

                                   Spirit Bears

           absolutely normal

like that old guy

    carving looks

                   out of the Depression

        with little discussion

 

   but the philosophical never

         moves to practical

                   and you’ll just look

                             down

at the ground    beating

       and wonder if maybe it’s all a little weird
