full-time job

a few minutes pass
and then we peer out
onto time and chaos

i get the weird feeling
that this will be
a full-time job

must make it
            resonate
with the soft
and openhearted
even though it
will mean nothing

but we’re stuck here
like bad traffic
until the chemistry
is fully balanced
